The MyBus app becomes the school’s transport ticket of the Allier departement’ students. This experimentation started on January the 21st. The goal for the college students, travel with MyBus on the bus’ lines connected to their college of Dompierre-sur-Besbre.
The CD03 and the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region
This experiment brings together several actors: the Allier County Council (CD03), the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region and the startup MyBus. Thanks to this collaboration, the public transportation in the region get into digitalization. It is essential to reconsider the information systems and the validation process of public transport users, at the time of smartphones have become a daily life indispensable tool. That’s why MyBus makes a commuter’s life easier through the contactless mobile ticket.
A specific use for Dompierre-sur-Besbre college students
On the one hand, every student who owns a smartphone can therefore use the MyBus application in a classic way. In fact, by flashing a QR-code to validate the ticket. On the other hand, those who do not have a smartphone, MyBus provides drivers with a smartphone to reverse the process. Indeed, Each student presents a card with a QR-Code to the driver who can validate the trip.
This digitalization therefore allows two major evolutions for the school transport network. First, it will make it possible to obtain data such as the attendance of each school network lines. Second, it is possible to track the buses localization in real time thanks to the driver smartphone which also allows users to see the bus localization. Parents also can see the network’s plan on their own smartphone with the bus position which bring their children to the school.
